OMCL-AC55TS Replacement AFM Probes
Olympus Corp. have decided to stop producing their well-known AFM probes, also known as Olympus*** Micro Cantilevers, which have been on the market for a very long time.

Below is a list of AFM probes that can be used as replacements for the Olympus*** OMCL-AC55TS AFM probes with nominal resonance frequency 1600kHz (range 850-2500kHz) and nominal force constant 85N/m (range 38-184N/m), also known as AC55. This AFM probe type has a 55µm long AFM cantilever beam with a triangular end. The three-sided AFM tip is at the very end of that the AFM cantilever and has a 90° end flank.
The OPUS 55AC-NG is the perfect alternative to the AC55. In form, fit and function these AFM probes are duplicates. The AFM cantilever length as well as the mechanical properties are the same. The AFM cantilever shape as well as the AFM tip shape match. This AFM probe is also available without a reflective coating - OPUS 55AC-NN or with an aluminum reflective coating - 55AC-NA.
The OPUS 4XC-NN AFM multi-lever AFM probe features an AFM cantilever with the same mechanical properties and the same AFM tip shape as the AC55.
The NANOSENSORS™ qp-fast features a circular symmetric AFM tip near the end of each of its three different AFM cantilevers. The AFM cantilevers lengths range from slightly shorter to slightly longer than the AC55. From a mechanical parameter point of view the qp-fast AFM cantilevers have lower nominal resonance frequencies and similar to lower force constants compared to the AC55.
The NanoWorld® ARROW-UHFAuD features a three-sided, slightly inclined AFM tip at the end of a triangular AFM cantilever end. The AFM cantilever length of the Arrow-UHFAuD is lower than the AC55 from Olympus*** and the overall AFM cantilever shape is similar. The nominal resonance frequency is somewhat higher than the AC55 AFM probe and the stiffness is higher compared to the AC55. With the Arrow-UHF there is also a version without an aluminum reflective coating.
The NanoWorld® USC-F5-k30, USC-F2-k3 and USC-F1.2-k7.3 offer ultra-short AFM cantilevers designed for high-speed scanning applications predominantly in air. The AFM tips are cone shaped and the AFM cantilevers have trapezoidal cross-sections. The resonance frequencies vary from lower than the AC55 to much higher. The AFM cantilevers are softer than the AC55.
